Comparative Analysis of a Social Vulnerability Index within SIDS

Developing an index to quantify and assess social vulnerability amoing and between Small Island Developing States (SIDS).  Research conducted alongside Dr. Neil Occuli and Dr. Eric Hoffman. Research findings were presented at the 2021 AAG annual confrence.

  • Assissted in identifying suitable indicators with available data

  • Located,collected, and organized data for 29 SIDS from open access global sources  

  • Assissted in writing research paper

  • Created and gave presentation at the 2021 annual American Association of Geographers confrence

Volcanic Lake  Methane

June 2019 - May 2021

  • Conducted thorough literature review and annotated bibliography

  • Developed procedure and collected needed data

  • Organized data on volcanic lakes and from other studies

  • Created poster and presented research findings at Dickinson College's 2021 Science Symposium

  • Created a standard operating procedure for biweekly and synoptic sampling

  • Research study sites and identify potential sampling locations

  • Create GIS map with sample locations

  • Create and publish Arc GIS online app to locate, travel among and mark sample sites while in the field

  • Spent two weeks in Iceland conducting field research and collecting data

  • Collected and preserved samples for testing
